I thought I'd add one of our silly Aussie Christmas Carols to my post today. Sing along!
Deck the sheds with bits of wattle, fa la la la la, la la la la,
Whack some gum leaves in a bottle, fa la la la la, la la la la,
All the shops are open Sundies, fa la la la la, la la la la,
Buy your Dad some socks and undies, fa la la la la, la la la la.
Deck the sheds with bits of gumtree, fa la la la la, la la, la la,
Hang the deco's off the plum tree, fa la la la la, la la la la,
Plant some kisses on the missus, fa la la la la, la la la la,
Have a ripper Aussie Christmas, fa la la la la, la la la la.
Say g'day to friends and rellies, fa la la la, la la la la,
Wave them off with bulging bellies, fa la la la, la la la la la,
Kids and babies, youngies, oldies, fa la la la, la la la la,
May your fridge be full of coldies, fa la la la, la la la la la.
Chop the wood and stoke the barbie, fa la la la la, la la la la,
Ring the folks in Abudabe, fa la la la la, la la la la,
Pop the stuffing in the turkey, fa la la la la, la la la la,
Little Mary's feeling ercky, fa la la la la, la la la la.
Rally rally round the table, fa la la la la, la la la la,
Fill your belly while you're able, fa la la la la, la la la la,
Joyce and Joaney, Dave and Darryl, fa la la la la, la la la la,
Sing an Aussie Christmas carol, fa la la la la, la la la la.
Oh, Bernie, that song put a smile on my face !! I might be easily amused but I couldn't help sing along :-) Have a great Christmas holiday!
ReplyDeleteTake care, Helene.
Glad you enjoyed the rather silly Christmas carol. It's one of my favourites. Enjoy your Christmas, Helene.
DeleteWishing you and yours a wonderful Christmas and a very Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteI thoroughly enjoyed that Aussie Christmas Carol, especially the "fill your bellies while you're able.."
Thanks for the season's greetings, Virginia. I hope you and yours have a lovely festive season. I think there will be lots of 'filling bellies' here!!
DeleteMerry Christmas to you!
ReplyDeleteThank you Lee. Wishing you and yours the best of times this Christmas as well.
DeleteMerry Christmas from the cold and snowy north.
ReplyDeleteIt's hot and steamy here, Anna, typical for our Christmas here. We will still sit down to a fabulous Christmas dinner with all the trimmings though. There's just nothing better, even in the heat and humidity. Enjoy your cold and snowy Christmas.
DeleteMerry Christmas Bernie
ReplyDeleteThanks Missy. Have a wonderful Christmas.
DeleteMerry Christmas from Arkansas USA! Looks like we are in for some snow tomorrow. We haven't had a white Christmas in years and I'm looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteBlembry, it's hot and steamy here. That's our usual Christmas weather. I've never experienced a white Christmas and it's on my bucket list. Enjoy yours.
DeleteMerry Christmas
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Patientgardener. I hope it's a very festive season for you and yours.
DeleteMerry Christmas, Bernie!
ReplyDeleteThanks for another wonderful year of sharing your garden with us. Your are always an inspiration.
Happy New Year and best wishes for a prosperous 2013!

Thank you so much, David. I wish you and yours all the very best in the coming new year too. I'm so looking forward to getting back home. I've been away a while and getting worried about the garden. I'm afraid my darling other half doesn't have the same love of gardening as I do, and finds caring for it rather tiresome. I think I'll have a bit of work to do when I get back.
DeleteMerry Christmas and Happy Holidays! Like your Aussie take on a traditional christmas song.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you enjoyed this version of an old Christmas standard, Stiletto. It's a bit of a laugh.
DeleteI hope you are having a wonderful Christmas holiday.
ReplyDeleteI am having a lovely Christmas break, thanks Jennifer. It was a little stressful a couple of weeks ago, but thankfully things have settled down now and I'm actually getting to put my feet up and relax a bit. Every other week I also get to spend time with my precious grandchildren which is a real bonus.
DeleteNow I'm going to be singing that version of it for the rest of the day - LOL! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas Bernie and that your New Year is a good one.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jayne for your Christmas wishes. It was a lovely day thank you, all the more enjoyable because I got to spend part of the day with my grandchildren. I'm still away from home and away from garden, and I think the poor garden is starting to suffer a bit. I'm not sure what will greet me when I finally return. Fingers crossed it's not too bad.
DeleteFun variation on an old favorite.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to following along to see what grows in your part of the world. Happy Holidays!
Thanks for visiting, Ricki. I'm on a bit of a hiatus at the moment as it's our long school holidays. I'm just popping in occasionally to check out comments, but I will be back adding posts in the new year.
DeleteBernie ... THAT was outstanding!! A bit of levity is perfect for the 'Season'! Happy Holidays and all the best in 2013! :)
ReplyDeleteHope you had a lovely Christmas, Bernie and every good wish for the new year.
ReplyDeleteDear Bernie, We have the bulging bellies here. Hope your Christmas was wonderful and wishing you a Happy New Year. P. x
ReplyDeleteI was thinking about you, Bernie! I hope you had a wonderful holiday, and I wish you and your garden the best in 2013. Happy New year!
